Juan Jesús Salamanca Jurado (Córdoba, 1987) holds a degree in Mathematics and Physics, and obtained his PhD in Differential Geometry from the University of Granada in 2015. The main goal of his thesis was the characterization of remarkable geometric elements in certain families of space-times. In 2017 he obtained a permanent position in the Department of Statistics and O.R. at the University of Oviedo, and in 2023 he became Associate Professor. Since joining the Department of Statistics and O.R., his research has focused on imprecise elements. He has used his geometric background to solve both new and old problems with novel tools and perspectives. He is currently a member of the IMAGINE research group, where he continues his research on imprecise probabilistic models.
